📈 Kalshi Plans Crypto App Integration

Expansion Strategy: John Wang, Kalshi’s Head of Crypto, announced plans to integrate the platform into major crypto apps and exchanges within 12 months. Appointed in August, Wang stated, “This next phase... will be a 10x unlock for us.” Kalshi aims to attract crypto-native users by building an ecosystem with real-time blockchain data, AI agents, and dashboards. Partnerships with Solana and Base were launched last month to support developers.

Prediction Market Role: Wang described prediction markets as a “Trojan Horse” for crypto, offering an accessible alternative to crypto options. Kalshi plans to significantly expand crypto event contract markets. Onchain initiatives, including developer tools, are additive to the core platform. Wang emphasized, “I would have failed my job” if Kalshi doesn’t impact crypto positively within 12 months. These efforts aim to engage diverse blockchain communities while maintaining existing user functionality.

Market Leadership: Kalshi’s market share grew from 3.3% to 66% by September’s end, surpassing Polymarket, due to NFL contract volume. CEO Tarek Mansour joined an SEC-CFTC roundtable this week to discuss regulation. In September, Kalshi recorded $1.3 billion in trading volume compared to Polymarket's $773 million. Polymarket is preparing for a U.S. launch around October after CFTC approvals and acquiring QCX for $112 million in July.
