Polymarket Gains CFTC Approval: On Sept. 3, 2025, the CFTC issued a no-action letter to QCX, acquired by Polymarket in July 2025, exempting it from certain swap data reporting and recordkeeping rules for event contracts. Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan announced on X, “Polymarket has been given the green light to go live in the USA by the CFTC. Credit to the Commission and Staff for their impressive work. This process has been accomplished in record timing. Stay tuned.” This follows a 2022 US ban.
Polymarket’s US Expansion Plans: Polymarket acquired QCX for $112 million in July 2025 to re-enter the US after a 2022 CFTC settlement blocked US users. The platform saw $3.7 billion in 2024 election trading volume, outpacing rival Kalshi. New markets surged 44% in July to 11,500. Donald Trump Jr. joined the advisory board and invested last month. Coplan didn’t specify relaunch timing, but users should stay tuned for updates on US operations via QCX’s license.
Linea Airdrop Launch: While Polymarket expands, Linea, an Ethereum Layer 2, launched an airdrop checker for its LINEA token, set for Sept. 10, 2025. A July snapshot allocated 9.36 billion tokens to 749,662 addresses from campaigns, with 85% for the ecosystem and 15% locked for Consensys. Over 800k sybils were removed.
