Token Blacklisting Incident: On Thursday, World Liberty Financial blacklisted a wallet linked to Justin Sun, effectively freezing his WLFI tokens and preventing transfers or governance participation. This action followed Sun's transfer of 50 million WLFI, valued at around $9 million, to an address connected to an HTX hot wallet, which had received 0.2 ETH ($872) just prior. Subsequently, 60 million WLFI ($11.1 million) were moved from the HTX wallet to a Binance deposit address, as tracked by Arkham and Nansen, during a time of intense market selling pressure.

Sun’s Public Defense: Responding early Friday on X, Sun proclaimed, “I am innocent,” and asserted that his tokens were “unreasonably frozen.” He emphasized, “Tokens are sacred and inviolable,” highlighting blockchain's superiority over traditional finance in fairness. Sun urged the team to “respect these principles, unlock my tokens, and let’s move forward together toward the success of World Liberty Financial.” He refuted selling allegations, describing the transfers as “general exchange deposit tests with very small amounts,” despite onchain data showing significant volumes.

Market Impact and Investments: The incident coincided with WLFI's price dropping 24% on Thursday, later stabilizing at $0.19 after a slight recovery, marking a 64% decline over seven days, according to Blockworks data. As a key supporter, Sun had invested $75 million in WLFI and committed $100 million to Trump’s memecoin. World Liberty Financial has not publicly addressed the freeze. In a tweet some viewed as a cry for help on Friday, Sun stated, "We believe U.S.-listed crypto stocks are an undervalued opportunity.
